Dress Code

Semi-Formal Attire

We're excited to celebrate our special day with you! As we prepare for the celebration, we want to share a few details about the dress code to ensure everyone feels comfortable and stylish.

Semi-Formal wedding attire sits between formal and casual dress wear.  This is not a black-tie event so tuxedos or ball gowns are not necessary.

Feel free to rock your favorite sneakers for our wedding, but we kindly request that you still dress up. Think of it as a fusion of comfort and elegance!

Gentlemen - This typically includes a tailored suit or dress pants paired with a dress shirt, tie, and dress shoes. If you opt for sneakers, choose a sleek and stylish pair that complements your outfit.

Ladies - There's plenty of room for creativity. Consider a chic cocktail dress, knee-length/ankle-length dress, a stylish jumpsuit, a sassy tailored  suit or a classy skirt and blouse combo. Accessorize with statement jewelry and your favorite sneakers to complete the ensemble.

If sneakers aren't your thing, your dress shoes and heels are most certainly welcomed!

We can't wait to see your stylish interpretation of our dress code! If you have any questions or need further clarification, feel free to reach out to us.

RSVP Information

How long do I have to RSVP?

Please RSVP no later than Sunday August 18, 2024.

What happens if I miss the RVSP deadline, can I still attend your wedding?

Please understand that due to limited space and catering considerations, we won't be able to accommodate guests who haven't RSVP'd by the deadline. We truly want to celebrate with each and every one of you, and your prompt response will ensure that we can do so seamlessly.

What if I accepted your invite and now I can't make it anymore?

We understand that life can sometimes throw unexpected surprises, and plans may need to change. If, for any reason, you find that you're no longer able to attend our wedding after you've RSVP'd and "accepted" the invite, we kindly ask that you notify us as soon as possible. Your prompt communication will allow us to adjust our arrangements accordingly and ensure that everything runs smoothly on the big day.

Do I still need to respond if I know for sure I can't attend?

If you know right away that you simply cannot join us (we completely understand) please "decline" so that we know for certain that you received this information/invite electornically.  Hopefully, we can celebrate with you at another time.

Girlfriend for Now

Signature Cocktail

Funny story, while video-chatting with my cousin (about two and a half years ago), I introduced Shawnita as my girlfriend “for now.” It came off as if she was a temporary place holder. Obviously, I didn’t mean it that way, but it definitely didn’t sound good at the time, lol.

Since then, my girlfriend for now has been a running joke.

While enjoying cocktail hour, be sure to ask for my signature drink “girlfriend for now.”
